I encountered many obstacles at every step of the process in making this movie. First it was at which angle I was going to express my educational philosophy. Then when I came up with the "theme" or idea that I used, I had to hunt down pictures of myself with my students in different activities. Next came putting it all together. In my mind I had exactly how it was going to play out, the obstacle was did I have the skills to get my movie to the vision I had in my head. Trial and error helped me to overcome the technical difficulties and now I have a product that slightly resembles my initial vision.
This would be a great project to use with students. It can be to explain a process or a concept, for instance in my Culinary Arts class. It is a simple enough project to start with as it does not require actually "footage", just stills and voice.
